The Ecuadorian pavilion, spanning 360m², is organised by the National Chamber of Aquaculture (CNA), which has represented Ecuador’s aquaculture sector for 31 years. Seventeen Ecuadorian shrimp exporters are participating, including companies such as Aquagold, Cofimar, Nirsa, and Omarsa. China remains the largest export market for Ecuadorian shrimp.
World Seafood Shanghai has established itself as a critical platform for companies aiming to strengthen their presence in China's competitive seafood market. The event offers opportunities for growth, international networking, and forging new business partnerships.
China has emerged as the primary destination for Ecuadorian shrimp, with over 50 percent of exports directed to this market. In 2023, shrimp exports from Ecuador to China surpassed 1.57 billion pounds, generating over $3.5 billion in revenue, according to CNA data.
This strong performance underscores Ecuador’s position as the leading shrimp supplier to China, a market that prioritises high quality, freshness, and sustainability. The country’s shrimp industry continues to reinforce its reputation for meeting global demand with premium products.
Following World Seafood Shanghai, Ecuador's First Class Shrimp pavilion will next appear in Singapore in early September, at another international seafood event, also organised by CNA.
