Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala led the turn-over of P27M worth of projects under the PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNAn (PAMANA) projects, P1.7M worth of fishing equipments from Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), P40M worth of projects under the Bottom-Up-Budgeting, and P76M worth of farm-to-market roads projects.
Mr Alcala also committed to immediately approve the local government-requested P10M worth of FMR projects, which will help farmers transport their products to the markets and other trading areas.
During the event, Regional Director Lealyn Ramos reported that Lanao del Norte recorded 139% rice self-sufficiently because of the efforts of the farmers across the province.
Farmers in Lanao also received 2,000 packets of assorted vegetable seeds, 1,200 fruit-tree seedlings, 1,000 bags of certified seeds, 1,000 bags of corn seeds, 3 units of thresher, 3 units of power tillers, 1 unit of four-wheeler tractor, and 6 units of mechanical sheller from DA.
DA also distributed livestock animals including carabaos, cattle, piglets, sheep, 5 units of marine engine (5.5 horsepower), 15 sets bottom set gill nets, 10 sets of seaweed farm implements and additional 5 units of fibre glass boats.
