FAO to Assess Aquaculture Development in Krgyzstan

KYRGYZSTAN - The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is to visit Kyrgyzstan to study the progress of projects for the development of fisheries and aquaculture.

The FAO mission will also assess the development of seed production for aquaculture.

The FAO mission will meet with the heads of the Ministry of Agriculture and Melioration, the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry, the National Statistics Committee, the German Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Union, the UN Resident Coordinator in Kyrgyzstan, representatives of the WFP and the UN Women, the World Bank and the International Fund for Agricultural Development, reports AKIpress.

Such visits allow the permanent representatives of the FAO to watch the progress of the organization's programs in various sectors of agriculture and food security, to meet with key partners in governments, international organizations, as well as with beneficiaries.
