Sea Garden S.A. began operations in January 2001, marketing and exporting seafood, acquiring raw materials from Chilean producers, and outsourcing processes in manufacturing plants.
As stated by the company in a press release, the different products are adapted to the specific requirements of its customers in both quality and packaging and presentation, creating added value at different stages of production.
Since March 2003 Sea Garden S.A. has had its own plant in the Municipality of Puerto Varas in the Tenth Region of Los Lagos in Chile.
"With sustained growth and improved processes that are the basis of Sea Garden’s development policy, the company set up its own plant to optimize production, quality control and products," said Javier Verdier, General Manager at Sea Garden.
“However, the task of development is fixed in projecting the company generating new additions to the structural, improving the performance of human capital and the development of products such as ongoing work in management, important factors in generating added value to meet the high standards of a growing international market," Mr Verdier added.
Since January 2011, and from the expansion of its manufacturing plant, the company has smoked homemade (especially trout and salmon) premium products.
"This expansion of our plant positions us on the market as a leading company in the field, being able to reach production levels that allow us to meet the growing demand of our major customers and continue to grow as we did since our inception," said Mr Verdier.
Ever since 2014, the company has implemented ways to achieve international standards to ensure the quality and safety of its products. So in addition to the HACCP certification standard (Codex Alimentarius), Sea Garden S.A. achieved GLOBALG.A.P. Certification with the certification body DNV (Det Norske Veritas) in May 2015.
