Antipolo Agri Office Distributes 100,000 Tilapia Fingerlings

PHILIPPINES - The Antipolo City Agriculture Office (CAO) has distributed tilapia fingerlings for free, to growers in the city.

A total of 100,000 tilapia fingerlings were distributed to 72 cooperators in the different sitios, CAO Aquaculturist Benjamin Nuez said.

The fingerlings came from the regional office of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) headed by Regional Director Esmeralda Paz-Manalang as requested by the city agriculture office.

A total of 6,000 fingerlings were given to two cooperators in Barangay San Luis; 12,000, 12 cooperators in Sitio Binayoyo; 12,000, six cooperators in Sitio Apia; and 23,000 for 11 cooperators in Barangay Calawis proper.

In Barangay San Jose, 7,000 were for six cooperators in Sitio Boso-boso; 4,000 for two cooperators in Sitio Kaysakat; 9,000 to three cooperators in Sitio Paenaan; 1,500 for a cooperator in Sitio Upper Buhanginan; 4,000 for four cooperators in Sitio San Joseph; 4,000 for three cooperators in Sitio Batangas and 1,000 for a cooperator in Sitio Panusuguin, San Jose.

A total of 2,000 fingerlings were divided among the three cooperators in Barangay Inarawan.
