Taking place from 21 to 23 April, the zone is designed to serve as a global launchpad for cutting-edge technologies and services. Six new companies have confirmed participation, with more being announced as they are confirmed. These organisations will join a strong line-up of established exhibitors recognised for driving progress in the sector.
“As aquaculture continues to outpace other food production sectors, the Aquaculture Innovation Zone provides a critical focal point for buyers and investors,” said Brenna Hensley, vice president, seafood events at Diversified, in a press release. “The zone will host a diverse range of companies and offerings – including suppliers, startups, and researchers – showcasing breakthrough solutions in farm management, fish health and water treatment, attracting a highly targeted global audience of hatchery professionals, investors and policymakers.”
The new space highlights the shift towards next-generation technology, spanning artificial intelligence-driven water analytics, advanced recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) engineering, and precision nutritional science. New companies participating include:
- Apollonia Trade (Hong Kong) – Presenting bespoke feed solutions tailored to specific nutritional requirements for European farms.
- AquaBioTech Group (Malta) - Highlighting consultancy, training, and contract research services, alongside the delivery of high-tech recirculating aquaculture systems.
- Bioceanor (France) - Showcasing artificial intelligence-powered water quality analytics and success stories from the salmon farming industries in Norway, Chile, Canada, and the UK.
- Hishing Smart Equipment (China) - Introducing a modular RAS and smart aquaculture internet of things (IoT) platform for eco-friendly operations.
- LiceDefence AS (Norway) - Debuting a behaviour-based sea lice control system that uses light to eliminate the parasites without chemicals.
- Sagar Aquaculture (India) - Launching an automated aeration system designed to reduce electricity consumption and costs while maintaining optimal oxygen levels.
In addition to connecting companies on the forefront of aquaculture with the global seafood industry, the space will include a dedicated Innovation Theatre which will host product pitches from exhibiting companies and an aquaculture networking meet-up, creating a high-energy environment for business and technical exchange.
Amongst the product pitches offered in the Innovation Theatre, Tony Chen, CEO and co-founder of Manolin*, an aquaculture analytics and data intelligence company and host of the Fish n' Bits podcast, will explore what AI really means for seafood businesses today. Drawing on his MIT computer science background and experience in big-data strategy, Tony's talk will separate hype from reality, highlighting practical AI applications already delivering value in the industry.
