P24M for Maguindanao Agri, Fishery Projects

PHILIPPINES - Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala has announced the award of P24-million worth of agricultural, fishery and irrigation projects for the Maguindanao area.

The projects will help farmers and fisherfolks groups to increase their productivity and incomes.

Secretary Alcala went on a two-day trip (June 18-19, 2012) to Maguindanao the 80th province he visited since he assumed office in July 2010 and dialogued with thousands of farmers, fisherfolk and local government officials in four towns (Buluan, Talayan, Datu Ondin Sinsuat, and Sultan Kudarat), where he also handed over agri-fishery projects, equipment, and farm inputs to farmers and other beneficiaries.
