Chef's Brand is also a recipient of the National Restaurant Association's (NRA) 2012 Food and Beverage Product Innovations Award.

The NRA's award press release noted it "recognizes consumable products that deliver significant restaurant operator benefits ranging from new flavor concepts to better-for-you nutritional profiles and operator flexibility."

Mike Babcock, owner of Oregon Seafoods, said he is thrilled with the NRA's recognition of their superior quality Albacore product.

"As we continually expand into new markets and in the hospitality industry foodservice chefs tell us over and over that we are the best tuna they've tasted," he said.

Chef's Brand Pacific Caught Wild Albacore 2 lb. and 4 lb. pouches are being marketed to grocery and specialty food store delis as well as the hospitality industry. Oregon Seafoods' wild Albacore tuna is offered in an easy-to-use, 1" thick package. The tuna is prepared by hand at ice-cold temperatures before being cooked once. The once-cooked process preserves the natural, heart-healthy omega-3 oils and mild flavors. The products are all natural and free of fillers and preservatives.

Oregon Seafoods' retail brand Sea Fare Pacific launched last autumn with its original 6 oz. Grocery Pouch wild caught Albacore tuna products, which includes: Sea Salt, Salt-Free, Jalapeo and Smoked. The four distinct flavors pair nicely with the fresh taste of the all natural white Albacore meat. The Sea Fare Pacific brand also offers three Sport Pouch items. The 3 oz. products are: Smoked Albacore Tuna, Sea Salt Albacore Tuna and Smoked Alaskan Red Sockeye Salmon.

Oregon Seafoods is committed to supporting sustainable, eco-friendly practices such as line catching fish and using packaging that leaves a lower carbon footprint. It is also proud to support West Coast fishing families, who line-catch their Albacore off the pristine Oregon, Washington and California coastlines one at a time with a hook and line to keep the earth and ecosystem safe.
