Viet Nam's Huge Investment in Aquatic Processing

VIET NAM - A license on investment, in the construction of an agricultural and aquatic products processing factory, has just been given by the Vinh Long Provincial Peoples Committee to Quoc Te aquaculture joint-stock company.

According to the license, the total investment in the plant amounts to some VND 1,200 billion.

The plant is to be erected in the Co Chien industrial grouping, Thanh Duc Commune, Long Ho District, Vinh Long.

Officials said the plant will cover an area of 11,376 ha and will specialize in husking rice, with a capacity of 50 tonnes per hour, producing fish and domestic animal feed, with a capacity of 20 tonnes per hour, and processing aquatic products with a capacity of 200 tonnes per day.

In addition, a cooling storage that can keep 1,500 tonnes of goods fresh will be built in the plant.

The first phase of the project is expected to be finished in November this year, while the second and the final phases will respectively be accomplished in November 2010 and April 2011.
