In a round-table talk on the Peruvian Market organised by VCCI and Peru Embassy in HCM City yesterday, Hung said that although the growth in bilateral trade had been stable, it still remained below its potential, reports VNS.
To increase trade, the two countries had decided to boost cooperation in these sectors.
According to Hung, the main Vietnamese exports to Peru are garments, rubber, seafood, plastic and decorative items.
Meanwhile, Viet Nam's imports from Peru are processed fish oil, fish powder and fish oil.
During the talk, Hung said that Viet Nam would offer good conditions to attract Peruvian companies to invest and open business in Viet Nam.
On its side, the embassy of Peru in Viet Nam has called for investment from Vietnamese companies and has introduced promising areas.
This year, Peru has had the second best business climate in Latin America.
It has stable and high economic growth compared to the other countries in the region and Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole.
Also, it has signed free trade agreements with many countries, according to the embassy.
Currently, two Vietnamese companies, PetroVietnam and Viettel, have opened businesses in Peru.
