The Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture will use the winning logo for International markets. The closing date for entries is the 16 February 2016.

According to the Tender Document, Nova Scotia's seafood sector needs geographical branding that gives products produced in the province an assurance of distinctiveness attributable to its origin.

Establishing an effective Nova Scotia seafood brand will give us a competitive advantage in key global markets such as Asia, Eastern Europe and the United States, the document continued.

The new Nova Scotia fish and seafood brand must be clearly and convincingly distinct. Such differentiation requires expert understanding of consumers, markets, channels and products — and the creativity to translate this into an innovative brand in language that persuades consumers.
