Innovations for next year are set to include simultaneous Chinese and Spanish translation of most of the sessions for the first time, as the GSF board continues its commitment to bolstering attendance and catering to those vital markets.
Secondly the organisers have pledged to strongly focus on growing retail representation, including featuring a retail-only session, which will take place on 2 September titled: “De-risking the Seafood Supply Chain.” The session will bring together representatives from supermarkets who will discuss the most urgent and relevant social and environmental risks in their seafood supply chains.
Additionally, there will be an exclusive networking event for retail representatives and GSF’s sponsors, as well as a broader programme of events that retail buyers and CSR managers are encouraged to join throughout the forum.
As the event's MD, Willem van der Pijl, explains: “The GSF team welcomes referrals or recommendations from readers should they know of Chinese colleagues and/or representatives from retailers who would be great additions to the 2025 cohort. If that is you or somebody you know, please get in touch via secretariat@shrimp-forum.com. If it is their first year attending GSF, there may even be an opportunity to claim one of a limited number of free passes.”
“It’s always a great pleasure to formally announce the dates for the next edition of GSF and to hopefully get the industry excited about next year’s event early on. The feedback we had from GSF 2024 was that it was the best one yet, and the board and I feel confident that with the additions we will be making to the event next year, it will continue to go from strength to strength.”
Registration for Global Shrimp Forum 2025 will open by 1 March 2025
