The Sustainable Shrimp Partnership (SSP), brings together companies across the value chain to identify common challenges, share technical and operational knowledge, and develop collaborative solutions that improve industry-wide performance.

Each brings a unique perspective and set of capabilities that enrich our dialogue and enable us to move toward more comprehensive and ambitious solutions,” said SSP director Pamela Nath in a press release.
As part of this shared vision, Fernando Coronel, vice president of corporate banking and value chain at Banco Guayaquil, highlighted: “We recognise the importance of the shrimp industry for Ecuador’s development. Our commitment is to support the sector in its transition toward more innovative and sustainable production by providing financing for clean energy, technology and modern infrastructure. By joining the SSP, we reaffirm our vision that sustainability is an opportunity for growth and competitiveness, and we remain committed to being active partners to Ecuador’s shrimp industry.”
Meanwhile, Eduardo Arosemena, managing director of Kampi, highlighted the role of technological innovation in driving efficiency: “At Kampi, we believe that innovation is key to achieving more profitable and sustainable production. The adoption of technologies such as artificial intelligence has already proven its value in the sector, enabling more precise and reliable decision-making. Joining the SSP allows us to align this vision with other stakeholders who are committed to the same goal.”
From a scientific perspective, José Duarte, regional technical director at Kemin AquaScience, highlighted the company’s focus on strengthening system resilience: “At Kemin AquaScience, we believe that sustainability is born from a genuine commitment to life and the future. Our curiosity drives us to innovate and to seek solutions every day that protect the environment and enhance the resilience of aquaculture systems. Joining the SSP has been more than a partnership – it has meant joining a cause that inspires us and challenges us to transform the way we produce shrimp, with responsibility, transparency, and respect for what truly matters: our planet and the generations that will inherit it.”
With the addition of Banco Guayaquil, Kampi and Kemin AquaScience, SSP continues to expand its network of partners committed to transforming global aquaculture into a successful and responsible practice for the world. These new members join a group of companies that already support SSP’s mission, including Adisseo, BASF, BioMar, Cargill, Corbion, dsm-firmenich, INVE Aquaculture, Skretting and Vitapro.
