The annual Aquaculture UK conference is just around the corner and the Young Aquaculture Society (YAS) is gearing up to make a splash at this year’s event. YAS will join Scale AQ at their stand throughout this year’s Aquaculture UK event, taking advantage of the visibility and space to network and share their message.
Partnerships with established companies, such as Scale AQ, is how an organisation like YAS is able to achieve results and support the development of young people in UKs aquaculture ecosystem.
“A company like Scale AQ reaching out to YAS in our infancy to support us was both incredibly exciting and quite humbling. It’s a demonstration that the industry is willing to support new ideas and new people,” said YAS vice president Robert Stewart, in a press announcement.
The two organisations are also partnering up with Inverlussa Marine Services to arrange a community fun run in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). The run will take place on 15 May at 8.30 AM and will take participants along the beautiful Aviemore circular. Everyone is welcome, and organisers will be running and walking so there will be plenty of support and opportunities to hear about both Scale AQ and YAS. Both Scale AQ and Inverlussa will be generously donating £5 each to the RNLI for every participant and encourage others to support this brilliant cause.
“The RNLI are a brilliant maritime cause; an institution that provide an excellent service for the women and men who work and interact with the seas around the UK,” said Scale AQ UK general manager Graham Smith.
Aquaculture UK will be the first official event for the Young Aquaculture Society and, in combination with their RNLI fundraiser, the conference is set to mark a significant milestone for the new young professional’s network.
