Naomi Bremner from Eday Community Association said: This cash boost from Scottish Sea Farms will help get the project off to a flying start. We hope that the entire community will benefit as there are no other sports or fitness equipment on the island. There will be something for everyone and we hope to unite our small community of 155 through sport.
Scottish Sea Farms recently invested over 1.3 million with a new fish farm near Eday, creating six new jobs for the rural community.
Richard Darbyshire, Regional Production Manager, Scottish Sea Farms, said: Its great that our Heart of the Community Trust can help local projects like this. We want to ensure that these grants make a difference to the communities where we operate and the sports club was a perfect candidate for our support.
The broad aim of the Heart of the Community Trust is to support community projects that will deliver lasting change to local communities and allow them to grow and develop. Awards may be granted to fund projects in the areas of health and health promotion, education and life-long learning, personal development and various community projects that bring benefit.

Support for Eday Community Project from Scottish Sea Farms
SCOTLAND, UK - A new community sports club is being established on Eday, Orkney with the help of a 4,000 Heart of the Community Trust grant from Scottish Sea Farms. The Community Association Sports Club will create opportunities for all age groups to participate in regular sporting activity.
