The application will automatically determine where in the country you are located, and provides the latest warnings from the FSA directly to the phone. It will also show an overview of all withdrawals places the Authority has and where it is safe to eat mussels.
"It is important to reach our users where they are, and the app lets us do just that. We are pleased to offer all those who want to pick mussels for their own use a better service as we launch an app for Andrioid," says IT director at the FSA, Odd Ingebretsen.
The Mussels Alert app was developed by a group of students from NITH and commissioned by the FSA.

Successful Mussel App Now Available for Android Phones
NORWAY - In May, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority launched its' mussel app for iPhones. After very positive feedback, a mussel app has now been created for android phones.
