Prior to his new appointment as chief executive officer, Mikalsen gathered over 2 decades of experience in the seafood industry. Formerly the chief financial officer at Kvarøy Fiskeoppdrett AS, Kvarøy Arctic’s parent company, Mikalsen has extensive experience of seafood market dynamics, sustainability practices, and consumer trends.
"We are delighted to have Rune Mikalsen join the team as the chief executive officer of Kvarøy Arctic," said Alf-Gøran Knutsen, chief executive officer at Kvarøy Fiskeoppdrett AS.
"His extensive experience in the seafood industry and his passion for sustainable practices make him the ideal leader to drive our growth and strengthen our position in the American market,” he added.
In his new role as chief executive, he will be responsible for overseeing the company's operations, sales and marketing strategies, and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, distributors, and retailers, as the company seeks to expand its global market, particularly within North America.
