Innovate Animal Ag's scholarship aims to support the next generation of leaders in aquaculture and poultry innovation. The IAA Poultry and Aquaculture Innovation Scholarship (IPAIS) will provide funding and career opportunities to students passionate about transforming animal agriculture through technology.
Launching on 15 August, the IPAIS will award up to three students USD 4,000 each, along with mentorship and professional development support in their respective sectors.
The scholarship is open to undergraduates and high school seniors from agricultural backgrounds who are studying subjects relevant to aquaculture or poultry and plan to work in these industries after graduation.
“New graduates today are entering one of the toughest job markets in years, and students from rural and agricultural backgrounds often face even greater barriers to opportunity. Innovation in poultry and aquaculture depends on finding the right people – scientists, engineers, farmers – ready to tackle complex, real-world challenges. With this scholarship, we are investing in students who understand those challenges firsthand and giving them the support to lead the next wave of progress," said chief executive officer Robert Yaman of Innovate Animal Ag, in a press release.
The aquaculture and poultry industries face unique hurdles when it comes to technological advancement, including high capital costs and biological complexities. Despite these challenges, there is growing potential for technology to drive sustainability, animal welfare and productivity in both sectors.
The IPAIS is designed to attract students with fresh ideas and practical insights, future leaders who can help scale innovations that improve farming systems globally.
