MSC Americas Region Appoints Commercial Manager

Post-harvest

US - The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) has named Maggie Beaton, a seafood industry veteran with more than 10 years experience, as commercial manager for the foodservice sector.

In this role, Ms Beatons primary responsibility will be to manage and grow MSCs relationships with foodservice companies and their clients within the Americas region.

Before joining MSC, Ms Beaton worked for the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) for seven years as a senior marketing specialist. While at ASMI, Ms Beaton developed marketing strategies for several European markets, and managed overseas marketing offices in the UK, France and Spain. She also advised companies on trade development, market trends, and brand building. More recently, Ms Beaton advised a range of her own clients, including Sea Fare Group and Bryant Christie Inc, on marketing, sales, and seafood sustainability.

Expanding MSCs partnerships with the foodservice industry is critical to the MSCs mission and I am very pleased to have Maggie on the commercial team, said Geoff Bolan, MSCs commercial director for the Americas. Her knowledge and experience in the seafood industry is a tremendous asset and I look forward to working with her to grow MSCs engagement with broadliners, contract caterers, restaurants, hotels, higher education and other foodservice operators in the Americas region.

I am passionate about the seafood industry and very excited about the opportunity to work with the Marine Stewardship Council, said Ms Beaton. This is an exciting time to join the MSC and I look forward to contributing to the long-term sustainability of an industry I care so much about."
