Amongst those attending is first time exhibitor, Maver Boats of Crail in Fife, who will be displaying their popular 6.9m catamaran design that is ideal for potting. Three of the craft have already been sold to east coast of Scotland skippers and the vessel on display at Aberdeen is destined for skipper Kenneth Ward of Pittenweem.

Martin Maver of Maver Boats said: “This design of catamaran has been adapted especially for creeling and features a high foredeck which enhances stability and reduces bow slamming. A major advantage of catamarans for potting is the amount of space available, providing an excellent working platform.”

Regular exhibitor G Smyth Boats will also have a craft on display in Aberdeen, hot on the heels of their highly successful Galway show. Gerry Smyth said: “We will be bringing a completed GM 7M in our signature ruby and cream colour. We will also be promoting our new Maxus 8.3m, the mould of which while only completed in February has secured four sales since the Galway show. Aberdeen has always been a successful for us and we are looking forward to the 2014 show.”

Anderson Marine will be exhibiting a new Cygnus SF33 vessel currently under construction for a Peterhead skipper. The vessel will be ready for launch in late summer and when completed will line for mackerel and creel for lobster and crab. This displacement vessel is a popular model being just under 10 metres in overall length with a beam of 4.72m and a cruising speed around 9 knots.

Jim McConville of Anderson Marine said: “The SF33 is extremely well built and is robust enough for the often rough waters of the North Sea. It handles superbly well even in the poorest weather conditions.

“This Cygnus SF33 is too large a vessel to go inside the main arena so will be exhibited outside but Anderson Marine staff will be available at the boat and inside the exhibition hall on their main stand to provide further details on this boat and all others in our Cygnus, Kingfisher and Gemini ranges.”

The Skipper Expo Int. Aberdeen 2014 will be held in the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre in Scotland on 30 and 31 May. More information on the event and to pre-register at www.maramedia.ie or contact Sharon Boyle on 00353 86 840 1250.
