The retail prices of chicken and eggs fell, and price of chicken was down by one per cent, 0.6 percentage points higher compared with that of the previous week.
The price of eggs was down by 0.9 per cent, and the price of eggs in Yinchuan, Tianjin and Zhengzhou fell by 5.2 per cent, 3.1 per cent and 2.8 per cent respectively.
The price of meat kept falling, the wholesale price of pork fell by 2.3 per cent compared with the previous week, down by 14.2 per cent in eight weeks.
The price of pork in Hefei, Lanzhou and Xi’an fell by 12 per cent, 10.3 per cent and nine per cent respectively, while wholesale prices of beef and lamb fell by 0.5 per cent and 0.2 per cent respectively.
However, the average wholesale prices of 18 vegetables rose by 7.1 per cent compared to the previous week, with a rise of 4.8 percentage points.
The prices of all vegetables rose, except cucumber, and the price of Chinese cabbage rose to 2.11 yuan per kilo due to reducing market supply, up by 29.5 per cent as compared with that of the previous week.
The average wholesale prices of eight kinds of aquatic products were up by 0.1 per cent as compared to the previous week,
Crucian carp, grass carp and silver carp rose by the largest margin of 2.1 per cent, 1.7 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively.
Retail prices of edible oil fluctuated slightly, of which small package of flour and rapeseed oil rose by 0.2 per cent and 0.1 per cent respectively as compared with that of previous week, soybean oil fell by 0.1 per cent, while small package of rice and peanut oil remained unchanged.
