Development of Fish Feed Industry

Nutrition Economics +2 more

US - MARKETS, a project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has called for the development of the fish feed industry to boost aquaculture business and reduce the cost of fish production.

Tim Prewitt, the Managing Director of Maximising Agricultural Revenues and Key Enterprises in Targeted Sites (MARKETS), observed that aquaculture is currently the fastest growing agricultural sub-sector, generating substantial profit.

Mr. Prewitt told NEXT.com that the potential of the subsector could be effectively maximised if fish feed is produced locally.

MARKETS, a non-profit organisation funded by the USAID has been working to boost agric business in Nigeria.
