Up to ten new Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) scholarships are being offered for the part-time, two-year distance learning MSc in sustainable aquaculture from St Andrews. The new scholarships, funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, are open to candidates from low and middle-income, eligible Commonwealth countries.
World-leading research on sustainability is taking place across the breadth of the University, with researchers addressing key questions on the defining issue of our generation.
The scholarships cover the tuition fees for the entire course, which starts in September 2024. Applicants must have a degree (2:1 or above) in a relevant scientific subject and live in one of the Commonwealth countries on this list.
Dr Neil Hazon, course director from the University of St Andrews School of Biology, explains: “The aim of the course is to recruit the next generation of decision-makers for aquaculture employed within the commercial sector, government departments, agencies, and NGOs.
“Part-time, online distance learning courses enables students to remain in employment, fulfil their family and personal commitments while also studying at advanced postgraduate level.
“The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission scholarship gives students across Commonwealth countries the opportunity to obtain a postgraduate degree from a university that is not only internationally recognised for its teaching and research excellence but also for its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.”
