Foodsize catfish feed delivered totaled 77,963 tons, down 5 per cent from the corresponding month a year ago. Feed delivered for fingerlings and broodfish totaled 4,949 tons, up 41 per cent from the corresponding month a year ago.
September feed delivered to Mississippi catfish growers for foodsize fish totaled 37,849 tons, down 8 per cent from last year. Mississippi accounted for 49 per cent of the total foodsize catfish feed delivered to US farmers.
The other major States with catfish feed deliveries for foodsize fish in September and their comparison to the previous year were Alabama with 25,700 tons, up 5 per cent; Arkansas with 7,740 tons, down 19 per cent; and Louisiana with 500 tons, down 58 per cent.
