US - At the upcoming 2010 Boston Seafood Show, Pacific Seafood, a family owned seafood company based in Portland, Ore., will showcase new products from its steelhead aquaculture farm, smoked products from its Salmolux line as well as its award-winning Starfish gluten-free battered halibut. This will be the first time these products will be broadly introduced to the media and available for tasting.

“Pacific Seafood is excited to introduce many of our newer companies and products to a larger audience at the Boston Seafood Show,” said president and CEO of Pacific Seafood, Frank Dulcich. “We are also looking forward to conversations about stewardship of a sustainable resource, an initiative Pacific Seafood is committed to and calling the “The Pacific Advantage™.”

Starfish All-Natural Gluten-Free Battered Halibut

Pacific Seafood’s Starfish gluten-free halibut has received great praise including being named a finalist in the Boston Seafood Show’s 2010 Seafood Excellence Awards and will be available for sampling at the show. Additionally, in Dec. 2009, the product was featured on Good Morning America Now, part of the ABC News Now network, getting high praise and a score of 92 out of 100, including 30 out of 30 for taste, from the Supermarket Guru, Phil Lempert.

Salmolux

Pacific Seafood, which in 2009 acquired Salmolux, Inc., a hot and cold smoked seafood and gourmet food processing company based in the Pacific Northwest, will introduce the Salmolux products for the first time, under the Pacific Seafood banner, at the 2010 Boston Seafood Show.

Steelhead Aquaculture

Pacific Seafood’s steelhead aquaculture farm, located on the Columbia River in Nespelem, Wash., is the company’s first foray into finfish aquaculture. Products from the farm, which is operated using sustainable, all natural and humane practices, will also be introduced for the first time at the Boston Seafood Show.

Pacific Advantage

Pacific Seafood continues to forge ahead in its commitment to stewardship, sustainability, quality assurance and traceability efforts and has dubbed the overarching initiative “The Pacific Advantage™”. At the Boston Seafood Show Pacific Seafood will promote this initiative including its commitment to the stewardship of a sustainable resource and support for responsible management practices.
