Foodsize catfish feed delivered totaled 104,060 tons, down 16 percent from the corresponding month a year ago. Feed delivered for fingerlings and broodfish totaled 4,209 tons, up 37 percent from the corresponding month a year ago.
July feed delivered to Mississippi catfish growers for foodsize fish totaled 49,001 tons, down 25 percent from last year. Mississippi accounted for 47 percent of the total foodsize catfish feed delivered to U.S. farmers.
The other major States with catfish feed deliveries for foodsize fish in July and their comparison to the previous year were Alabama with 36,818 tons, up 7 percent; Arkansas with 10,429 tons, down 35 percent; and Louisiana with 1,411 tons, down 51 percent.
