Iceland's Fish Catch Dropped in June 2012 Compared to Previous Year

ICELAND - Total catch of Icelandic vessels in June 2012 was 52,220 tonnes compared to 80,959 tonnes in June 2011.

Demersal species accounted for 27,600 tonnes, thereof cod 12,200 tonnes, haddock nearly 1,900 tonnes, redfish 2,700 tonnes and saithe 4,000 tonnes. The pelagic catch was around 20,400 tonnes.

At constant prices the volume of the catch decreased by 25.7 per cent in June 2012 compared with June 2011.
