The total Norwegian quota is preliminary set to 2330 tons in the North Sea and 69 tonnes in the Skagerrak.
As negotiations with the EU on a bilateral quota agreement is not concluded, the Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs established an interim regulation. Final regulations are established when an agreement with the EU is ready.
As previously, only vessels that fish with conventional gear can operate direct fishing for cod. All trawling still regulated by-catch rules.
Vessels under 15 meters can catch up to 50 tons, vessels between 15 and 21 meters can fish up to 100 tons and vessels over 21 meters can fish up to 200 tons. Differentiated guaranteed quotas host set to respectively five, 10 and 20 tons.
In the open group, vessels under 10 meters to catch up to five tons, vessels between 10 and 21 meters can fish up to 10 tons and vessels over 21 meters can fish up to 15 tons. Guaranteed quotas host set to four tons for all groups.
