Foodsize catfish feed delivered totaled 38,828 tons, down 34 per cent from the corresponding month a year ago. Feed delivered for fingerlings and broodfish totaled 1,358 tons, up 81 per cent from the corresponding month a year ago.
October feed delivered to Mississippi catfish growers for foodsize fish totaled 17,762 tons, down 34 per cent from last year. Mississippi accounted for 46 per cent of the total foodsize catfish feed delivered to US farmers.
The other major states with catfish feed deliveries for foodsize fish in October and their comparison to the previous year were Alabama with 14,442 tons, down 14 per cent; Arkansas with 2,916 tons, down 63 per cent; and Louisiana with 116 tons, down 94 per cent.
