The name change is part of a 2014 rebranding and marketing initiative planned by the exposition's producer, Diversified Business Communications.
Diversified Business Communications commenced the rebranding of its seafood trade expositions with the International Boston Seafood Show & Seafood Processing America, now known as Seafood Expo North America & Seafood Processing North America.
Since then, the European Seafood Exposition & Seafood Processing Europe held in Brussels, Belgium, has been renamed Seafood Expo Global & Seafood Processing Global.
The Asian Seafood Expo is the next phase of the rebrand, which will be completed in October, when Seafood Barcelona adopts its new name, Seafood Expo Southern Europe.
"The new branding initiative is more than just giving new names to our high-quality seafood events," said Mary Larkin, Group Vice President, Diversified Business Communications and Publisher for SeaFood Business magazine, during a press conference.
"It unifies all Diversified Events serving the global seafood industry under one recognizable, strong brand authority. All marketing initiatives will reflect this change, including the new website, www.seafoodexpo.com ."
Next year, Seafood Expo Asia will be held from 2-4 September 2014 in Wanchai at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Exhibitors and attendees of the 2013 exposition can learn more about Diversified Business Communications at the Exhibitor Sales Lounge (Booth #5-322).
