Argentina to Invest 445 million pesos in Fisheries and Aquaculture Development

ARGENTINA - The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has approved funding of 445 million pesos to start a programme to strengthen the the development of fishing and aquaculture in the country.

The programme aims to promote the maintenance and expansion of production in the sectors.

It should also help to improve the ability to manage and develop the fisheries and aquaculture resources sustainably, strengthen the Undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture and the National Institute of Fisheries Research, refine management systems and improve the competitiveness of the aquaculture sector.

The funding will also cover the acquisition of two vessels for oceanographic research in coastal areas and infrastructure for research.
