Airmar Technology Will Attend Fishing UK 2012

Sustainability Post-harvest +2 more

UK - For the first time ever at a UK fishing event, fishermen attending the Fishing UK 2012 exhibition in Glasgow, Scotland, will have a unique opportunity to view the innovative range of ultrasonic transducers and sensing technology from Airmar Technology Corporation of the US.

Airmar is a world leader in the design and manufacture of sensing technology for marine and industrial applications, and it is anticipated that fishermen at Fishing UK 2012 will be particularly interested in the companys new broadband transducers with enabling technology for next generation CHIRP (compressed high-intensity radar pulse) fishfinders.

When Airmars new transducer is paired with a broadband fishfinder with receive signal processing, the result is up to ten times greater sensitivity and performance than current fishfinder technology. One transducer can deliver up to 117 kHz of total bandwidth in just one installation, saving customers significant time and money.

Advantages include dramatically improved fish and seabed detection, superior depth capability, and significantly better performance at speed. There are different mounting options available for CHIRP transducers, including pocket-mounted housings to match the traditional installation set-up of commercial fishing boats.

This is the first time we have exhibited at a fisheries exhibition in the UK and we are tremendously excited to have the opportunity to show fishermen the serious benefits offered by our technology, said Bertrand Picarda, Airmars European Sales Manager.

CHIRP is a game-changer for professional and sport fishing enthusiasts and is revolutionising the fishfinder industry, added Mr Picarda.

A large number of exhibitors have already committed to attend the Fishing UK 2012 event in Glasgow in a new-look commercial fisheries exhibition that will cover every sector of the UK and international fishing industry.

This will be the 25th anniversary of the popular and well-established fishing UK series of shows and the new format is being carefully developed in close consultation with the fishing industry.

David Moir, Fishing UK 2012 Show Manager and former skipper, says: We are delighted that such a prestigious international company as Airmar Technology Corporation has chosen Fishing UK 2012 to showcase its innovative range of ultrasonic transducers and sensing technology, which will be of immense interest to skippers looking to enhance their fishing performance. Fishing UK 2012 will be a fantastic event and we are delighted by the high level of interest in the event from exhibitors and visitors alike.
