Last week, as market supply of open-field vegetables saw great increase in many places, the average wholesale price of 18 vegetables declined by 4.6 per cent compared to the previous week.
The prices of onion, eggplant and beans saw the greatest fall of 10.5 per cent, 9.7 per cent and 8.5 per cent respectively, compared to the previous week.
The market supplies of fresh water fish increased, and the average wholesale price of eight aquatic products dropped by 0.4 per cent compared with last week.
The prices of chub, grass carp and common carp stood out with a drop of two per cent, 1.2 per cent and 1.1 per cent, respectively.
The prices of poultry and eggs stabilised and declined a little.
Among others, the price of stripped chicken was the same as the previous week while that of eggs declined by 0.1 per cent.
However, the wholesale prices of meat increased by differing amounts. Of these the prices of pork, mutton and beef rose by 0.5 per cent, 0.5 per cent and 0.3 per cent respectively, compared to the previous week.
The retail prices of grains and oil saw slight volatility.
The prices of soybean oil and peanut oil both dropped by 0.1 per cent while those of rapeseed oil and rice in small packages was the same as the previous week. The price of flour in small packages grew by 0.2 per cent.
