Nutrition

ADM Animal Nutrition is pleased to announce the addition of five new individuals to its growing team of experts

Dr John Bowzer joins ADM Animal Nutrition as lead research scientist in aquaculture. Bowzer is tasked with strengthening ADM’s commitment to developing ingredients and products that deliver value to the rapidly growing aquaculture industry. In addition, he leads ADM’s efforts to expand its research capabilities through development of an aquaculture wet lab. Bowzer received his doctorate in zoology from Southern Illinois University in 2014 and brings significant technical expertise in fish and shrimp nutrition and physiology to ADM Animal Nutrition.

With a focus in monogastrics, Dr Ferdinando Almeida is an experienced research scientist and swine nutritionist also new to ADM Animal Nutrition. Almeida earned his Master of Science and doctorate in swine nutrition from the University of Illinois and a post doctorate from the University of Illinois in immune-physiology. Almeida will lead research to identify value-added opportunities in current and new processing streams for swine and poultry applications at ADM.

Thomas Frangione and Ross Windham will serve as national account managers, focusing on ADM Animal Nutrition’s dairy and poultry businesses respectively. Prior to joining ADM Animal Nutrition, Frangione led a team of sales managers at Merck Animal Health overseeing the sale of Merck cattle products to producers, farmers and veterinarians. Windham, previously the director of poultry sales at Biomin, managed growth of the company’s poultry business across the U.S. Frangione earned a Master of Science in animal breeding from the University of New Hampshire and Windham received a Bachelor of Science in poultry science from Texas A&M University.

New to ADM Animal Nutrition’s companion animal team is Vanessa Beaudoin, national account manager for the Canadian sector. Beaudoin has a Master of Science in animal behavior and nutrition as well as an MBA in sustainable commerce from the University of Guelph. Previously, she worked for PetSmart Canada, where she gained valuable insights in consumer and market trends affecting the pet food industry.

“On behalf of ADM Animal Nutrition, we’d like to welcome our new colleagues to the team,” said Andrew Carlson, vice president, Bioactives and Specialty Animal Nutrition. “This is an exciting time for our group as we continue to grow and expand our network of industry experts and provide customers with unmatched insights across a variety of species and services.”
