UK - 5m Publishing is expanding its coverage of animal health and welfare beyond the farm gate.

Following on from the stable of websites that offer information, news and technical insight into livestock, aquaculture and crop care and production, the agribusiness publishers are now extending their coverage into the companion animal market.

ThePetSite.co.uk offers news and features into the care, health and welfare of companion animals – from the equine sector to dogs, cats and even Koi carp.

The new website is providing daily news reports on issues affecting the sector with articles on nutrition, animal diseases and ailments, legislation and new developments.

The site also includes more in-depth reports and insight into the latest research and developments covering pet care as well as up-to-the-minute tips for owners and professionals alike.

Together with the news and features, ThePetSite has teamed up with top vet Dr Mike Davies, to offer detailed information about ailments, diseases, pests and illnesses that can affect companion animals, as well as advice for both vets and pet owners on treatments, care and nutrition.

The site will also offer readers the opportunity to access a range of technical and practical books related to the care and welfare of pets and companion animals

The interactive nature of the site also allows pet owners, pet professionals, vets and breeders to discuss issues and post pictures in the website’s open forum.

ThePetSite will also be publishing a weekly newsletter to keep readers up-to-date with the latest news and events as well as alerting readers on up to the minute news through all the social media channels.

Members of ThePetSite staff will be on hand at Crufts this week as well as at the PATS exhibition at Sandown Park later in March and at the British Small Animal Veterinary Association congress in Birmingham in April.
