Total Value of Icelandic Catch Increased by 25.5 Per Cent

ICELAND - Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to 58.5 billion ISK in January-April 2012, compared with 46.6 billion ISK in the first four months of 2011.

Total value increased therefore by 25.5 per cent between years.

Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 36.6 billion; thereof cod ISK 19.8 billion, haddock 5.6 billion, and redfish six billion.

Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 16.2 billion and flatfish catches for four billion.
