Total Value of Catch Increased by 14.2 Per Cent

ICELAND - Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to 80.5 billion ISK in January-June 2012, compared with 70.5 billion ISK in the first six months of 2011. Total value increased therefore by 14.2 per cent between years.

Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 52.2 billion; thereof cod ISK 27.2 billion, haddock 7.4 billion, and redfish 7.7 billion. Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 18.5 billion and flatfish catches for 6.3 billion.
