Biodiversity conservation will receive 2.8 million euros, climate change abatement has been allocated 1,026,240 euros and marine conservation is due for a 520,000 euro boost.
The spending is across 114 separate projects. Of these 73 initiatives focus on the three policies of; the Spanish Inventory of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, european directives on birds and habitats and the Natura 2000network which focuses on sustainable food production.
Species earmarked for attention include the marbled teal, imperial eagle, vulture, lesser gray shrike, the reed bunting, brown bear, the lynx, the European mink or European pond turtle.
MAGRAMA carbon footprint policies are being met by funding 26 other beneficiaries. Schemes include monitoring air quality and measuring the effects of green National Park schemes.
More responsible fishing legislation is planned for the conservation of marine species with 15 projects aiming to develop codes of good fisheries practices and manage resources more sustainably.

SPAIN Biodiversity, climate change and sustainable development are expected to receive a boost after the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA) revealed that 4.3 million euros will be targeted at these areas.
