The post represents a significant move forward for the Plymouth-based Trust, which has helped drive major advances in UK, European and international legislation to protect threatened sharks over the past 15 years. The Trust has now set its sights on further developing its profile, sustainability and capability to ensure continued advancement in shark conservation across the world’s oceans.
Roy comes with many years of senior-level experience from the retail and consulting sector and has a very strong background in business development and leading successful teams. Roy has been given the remit of developing the profile of the Shark Trust and ensuring the Trust remains commercially sustainable, enabling it to invest in and grow the conservation activities of the charity.

The Shark Trust has built an excellent reputation over its first 15 years for science-based shark conservation. I am really looking forward to working with the staff and trustees to develop the Trust into an even more influential organisation that extends globally, enabling us to continue working toward the worldwide conservation of sharks through science, education, influence and action.”
