Pure Salmon Poland is co-owned by AquaMaof Aquaculture Technologies and the private equity firm 8F Asset Management and has the capacity to produce 450 tonnes of salmon a year.
“We’re thrilled to announce that after a lengthy and successful audit we’ve received the ASC certification,” says Eran Huppert, CEO of Pure Salmon Poland. “With environmental awareness growing among our clients and consumers, it was very important for us to obtain this certification to back our commitment to producing the highest-quality fish in the most responsible way.”
Pure Salmon Poland is the first of a series of facilities which are being developed by Pure Salmon and 8F Asset Management, with additional projects underway in Japan, France, America, China, South East Asia and Africa. With the goal of producing a combined 260,000 tonnes of salmon per year, this global initiative uses AquaMaof’s proprietary recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) technology and design.
AquaMaof is also currently using Pure Salmon Poland as an R&D centre, conducting trials and experiments to enhance the technology’s sustainability and streamline operations, as well as to train staff to operate and maintain RAS technology.
The companies claim that it is “one of the few fully-operational land-based commercial facilities that consistently produce and market Atlantic salmon of 4kg and above”.
