The Buckie based company, which is part of Associated Seafoods, won the Development of Export Markets category, at the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards held in Inverness on Friday 19 October.
According to Henry Angus, export sales director for Lossie Seafoods, the award is direct recognition of the hard work and dedication of employees in ensuring the production of the highest quality Scottish smoked salmon.
Without the best staff and the best products we would not be nominated for honours such as these, and Charlies award as Ambassador of the Year underlines his fantastic achievements in developing the company to its current leading position, he said.
Victor West, managing director of Associated Seafoods (Buckie) said: Charlie Devin thoroughly deserves this 40 years' of service award to the seafood industry. He is a genuine ambassador for the industry and Scotland.
Last year Lossie Seafoods sold to 98 customers in 24 countries, which has seen the company also develop markets for its Scottish smoked salmon in Russia and China.
The Scottish brand name has a great reputation for quality and there is strong interest in the export market for premium smoked salmon, as well as Scottish langoustines supplied by our sister company, Moray Seafoods, said Henry Angus.
Several of our customers are now looking for combined consignments of smoked salmon and langoustine, which enhances our product offering and appeal.
Lossie Seafoods is also a finalist in the forthcoming the Food Manufacturing Awards being staged in London on Monday 5 November at the Park Lane Hilton Hotel.
