Forty-Three Seafood Prix dElite Finalists

BELGIUM Forty-three finalists from sixteen countries around the world and were chosen out of 94 total entries have been selected in the Seafood Prix dElite new product competition at the European Seafood Exhibition in Brussels this month.

The finalists will go on to be judged by a distinguished jury of seafood buyers, chefs and industry experts, representing countries throughout Europe.

The products will be evaluated on their taste, originality, convenience, packaging, market potential, and nutrition. To ensure credibility and accuracy in judging, points are tracked and audited by Ernst & Young.

Winners will be selected in the following categories:

  • Two grand prizes are awarded for 'Best New Retail Product' and 'Best New Foodservice Product'.
  • Special Awards are given out for 'Health and Nutrition', 'Convenience', 'Retail Packaging', 'Originality', and 'Best New Product Line'.

Now in its tenth year of honoring the finest new seafood products entering the market, the Seafood Prix d’Elite competition continues to grow in importance and prestige.The Seafood Prix d’Elite takes place alongside the European Seafood Exposition and Seafood Processing Europe. Together, these events form the world’s largest seafood exposition, with buyers from more than 140 countries in attendance.

Winners of the 2010 Seafood Prix d’Elite competition will be announced 27 April at the Seafood Prix d’Elite Awards Reception, in Auditorium 2000, during the European Seafood Exposition. All attendees, exhibitors and registered press are invited to the awards reception.

All finalists’ products will be on display in the Seafood Prix d’Elite stand, Patio-4609, at the 2010 European Seafood Exposition.

With over 1,600 exhibitors at the European Seafood Exposition and Seafood Processing Europe, to be chosen as a winner or selected as a finalist of the Seafood Prix d’Elite is a notable achievement.
