Under EU rules, feed additive permits need renewing every 10 years.
The first such renewals will be evaluated by EFSA in 2015.
EFSA is publicly consulting now on its draft guidance for the submission of feed additive renewals. Also launched today is a draft guidance on Bacillus species used as microbial feed additives or enzymes.
The deadline for comments on both drafts from the scientific community and stakeholders is 16 August.
