Court Halts Fish Farm on Agricultural Land

INDIA - The court in Hyderabad has blocked moves to build a fish farm on agricultural land.

According to a report in The Times Of India, Justice R Subhash Reddy of the A P High Court suspended the consent order from the West Godavari district authorities who permitted certain land to be converted into fish ponds.

The report says that the etitioner, Tananki Rayappa of West Godavari district, accued the authorities of allowing good agricultural land to be used in an indiscriminate way.

While suspending the go ahead for the fish ponds the judge called on the authorities to respond to the accusations.
