MMO state: "It is vital that the people and organisations affected by our regulatory work understand how we approach our compliance and enforcement activities."
MMO is adding to the guidance it already provides with the publication of a new Compliance and Enforcement Strategy which sets out the general regulatory principles that it will follow and the powers available.
The document also summarises how MMO conduct investigations and the circumstances and processes for criminal prosecutions.
MMO comment: "To help us make sure this information can be clearly understood we are inviting organisations, groups and individuals affected by it to review the document and let us know their thoughts. It is being published on our website and copies of the strategy are also being sent to stakeholder organisations for their comments."
