Researchers are invited to contribute to a new academic volume examining the role of microbes in sustainable aquaculture and environmental management.

A new academic book, titled Microbial interactions in aquaculture and the environment: From ecosystem dynamics to sustainable practices, is now accepting chapter proposals from researchers and academics in the fields of microbiology, aquaculture and other related disciplines.

This upcoming volume is to be published by Apple Academic Press, exclusive co-publishing with CRC Press (Taylor and Francis Group). It will provide a comprehensive exploration of the complex roles that microbes play – both beneficial and harmful – in shaping aquaculture systems and influencing environmental outcomes. It will offer scientific and practical insights into how microbial communities can be managed to enhance sustainability and reduce ecological impact.

The book is edited by a team of academics from universities and research institutes in Egypt and Malaysia. Contributing institutions include the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries (NIOF) in Egypt, the Faculty of Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences in Egypt and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)

This book will offer a clear and practical look at microbial interaction across different aquatic environments. It will focus on sustainable practices, including integrated multi-trophic aquaculture (IMTA), and explore how microbes shape environmental balance. By combining theory with real-world examples, this book will also address future challenges and present practical microbial strategies to improve water quality and enhance aquaculture productivity.

Accepted chapters will not be subject to any publication charges. Interested authors are invited to submit their abstracts via a QR code provided in the official announcement or by contacting the lead editor, Dr Bahaa Abdella (Kafrelsheikh University, Egypt), at the following email address: Ba.abdella@gmail.com
