Basilisa Town Benefits from Marine Fish Cage Project

PHILIPPINES - The town of Basilisa in Dinagat Islands recently received a Marine Fish Cage Project worth P2.5 million from the Department of Agriculture-Caraga Region.

The said project comprises of five cages with 5,000 bangus fingerlings established at the Marine Culture Site at Isla Cibukaw in Basilisa town.

The project was established during the conduct of the six day hands-on training on Marine Fish Cage Technology Design, Construction and Maintenance facilitated by the Department of Agriculture through the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-RFTC, Panabo City Training Specialist II Rodulfo E. Cardoza in coordination with the Municipal Agriculturist.

Around 50 identified fisherfolks from different barangays of Basilisa attended the said event held at Barangay Tag-abaca, this town.
