Vietnam plans aquaculture hub in Mekong Delta

VIET NAM - Vietnam plans to build a VND35.3 billion ($2.2 million) research center that will transfer aquatic breeding techniques to farmers in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang.

The Ministry of Fisheries also plans to build seven breeding centers in the region with a capacity of 72 billion fry. Although the Mekong Delta has almost 1,500 such breeding centers, they are only able to meet a small portion of local demand.
