This initiative comes as a self-sustaining ecological pathway to produce feed from natural resources in the Andean region.
The feed contains germinated corn raw material, pumpkin and sweet potato leaves.
Mauro Cardenas, a farmer in Tachira state, explained that the method of obtaining fish food from natural raw material has a low cost and is a easy process.
"For example, you can use sweet potato leaf, pre-select, run it through a washing process, and dehydrate it to convert it into a flour that provides 76 per cent of the protein requirement for fish," he said.
