Ukraine and China Sign MoU on Fisheries

UKRAINE - Ukraine and China plan to expand bilateral cooperation. The two parties intend to implement a joint project of the Sevastopol Sea fishing port and initiate joint construction on its base port plant. This was discussed during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine and China.

During a meeting between the Chinese-Ukrainian Association of International Projects Corporation and the China International Economic Cooperation, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said that the development of cooperation with China in agriculture has high activity.

"With regard to the present Memorandum, I want to note the high prospects in the area of fisheries. So I'd like to see the two sides came together with the utmost responsibility, " Mr Prysiazhnyuk said.

The Minister also said that the MoU will provide a joint project of the Sevastopol Sea fishing port. In particular, it will start a joint construction of port plant in Sevastopol.

"The memorandum will help attract high-level professionals to develop and implement this project. And our common goal is to to make the project a success based on the geographical location of the Crimea," said the Minister.

The Chinese side expressed interest in developing cooperation between China and Ukraine in agriculture at three levels - the global projects will be implemented on the international level on a large scale, at the regional level, which will be specialized and at the corporate level.

In turn, the Minister assured the Chinese delegates of full support in the initiatives of the Government of Ukraine and promised to do everything to facilitate the implementation of the joint projects.
